School Admissions

Reception

Children start full-time in Reception in the autumn term of the academic year in which they turn five. This ensures all children have access to full-time education before moving into Year 1.

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 8.

Admissions into our Reception Class are managed by the Oxfordshire County Council (OCC)

School Admissions Team.

Please visit their website for detailed information and guidance on the school admissions process:

Parental Choice and Deferred Entry

Parents may choose to:

Defer their child’s start date until later in the school year (but not beyond the term after their fifth birthday); or Request part-time attendance until their child reaches compulsory school age.

If you wish to take up either of these options, please contact the school directly to discuss your child’s needs.

Admission Criteria

When allocating school places, Oxfordshire County Council uses the following criteria (in order of priority):

  • Children with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan naming the school
  • Looked After Children and previously looked after children
  • Children with disabilities who need to attend the school for reasons of physical accessibility
  • Children living in the designated area with a sibling already on roll who will still be attending at the time of entry
  • Children living in the designated area
  • Children living outside the designated area with a sibling on roll who will still be attending at the time of entry
  • Children living closest to the school

In-Year Transfers

We accept in-year admissions into all year groups if spaces are available. Each year group has capacity for 8 children.

All in-year admissions are coordinated by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC). Please contact the OCC School Admissions Team to check availability and apply for a place:

Appeals Process

If your child has not been offered a place at our school, you have the right to appeal the decision. The appeals process is managed by Oxfordshire County Council.

You can find full details, including how to make an appeal and the appeal timetable, on the OCC website:

Nursery

We offer full and part-time nursery provision for children from the term after their 3rd birthday. Children may attend on a full or part-time basis, with the option of full or half-day sessions. We accept both 15-hour and 30-hour funding entitlements.

Our nursery has capacity for 8 children per session.

Nursery admissions are managed in school by Ali Andrews and Emily Holmes and follow the Oxfordshire County Council Nursery Admissions Procedures.

Please note that:

A place in our nursery does not guarantee a place in our reception class. Applications for Reception must be made through Oxfordshire County Council.
