Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is extra funding that helps us give children the support they need to learn and thrive at Tetsworth Primary School.
The school may receive this funding if a child qualifies for Targeted Free School Meals, has qualified in the past six years, or was previously in care. There is separate funding for eligible children from Armed Forces families. Funding for children currently in care is arranged through the local authority.
Could your child be eligible?
Please check even if your child already receives a free school meal. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can have a free school meal, but some families may also qualify for Pupil Premium funding.
From September 2026, more families receiving Universal Credit can get free school meals. However, eligibility under the expanded free school meals rules does not, by itself, bring Pupil Premium funding to the school. We can help you check which rules apply.
To find out more or request an application form, please contact the school office. You can also read Oxfordshire County Council’s free school meals information.
Fiona Morris, our SEND and Pupil Premium Lead Governor, monitors how the school uses this funding and the difference it makes for children on behalf of the governing body.
