Forest School
At Tetsworth Primary School, we are proud to offer a Forest School programme that provides every child with the opportunity to learn and explore in a natural outdoor environment throughout the year. We are fortunate to have access to a beautiful Forest School site within our own village, allowing pupils to experience the outdoors regularly and meaningfully as part of their learning journey.
Each class takes part in Forest School sessions across the year, led by trained staff and carefully planned to complement and enhance classroom learning. The sessions are linked to curriculum areas such as science, geography, design and technology, and personal, social and emotional development, giving children opportunities to apply what they learn in school to real-world, hands-on experiences.
As a small school, every child is known and supported as they grow in confidence, independence, and resilience through their Forest School experiences. The sessions nurture curiosity, creativity, and collaboration while promoting wellbeing and respect for the natural environment.
By engaging regularly with the natural world in our local area, pupils at Tetsworth Primary School develop a strong sense of belonging, a love of the outdoors, and an appreciation of their role in caring for the world around them.
